Infecting fields, roadsides, and homestead plots, hogweed not only threatens nature, but also poses a real danger to human health.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"693\">Some types of hogweed, in particular <strong data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"466\">Sosnovsky&#039;s hogweed<\/strong>, contain furanocoumarins, substances that cause severe photochemical skin burns. Contact with this plant is especially dangerous in the summer, when the toxic compounds are activated by sunlight.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"933\">If you have had contact with hogweed, do not delay. The main danger to humans is <strong data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1283\">Sosnowski&#039;s hogweed (Heracleum sosnowskyi)<\/strong>.
