And for good reason: the intestine is not just an organ of digestion. Its walls contain up to 70% immune cells, and <strong data-start=\"371\" data-end=\"427\">microflora performs dozens of critically important functions<\/strong>: from vitamin synthesis to mood regulation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"704\">When the balance of microorganisms is disrupted, it can affect <strong data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"585\">immunity, metabolism, psycho-emotional state<\/strong> and general well-being. Therefore <strong data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"703\">diagnostics and maintenance of healthy microflora is an important area of modern medicine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"739\"><strong data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"739\">What is intestinal microflora?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"741\" data-end=\"944\">Intestinal microflora is a collection of microorganisms that live in the gastrointestinal tract.
