But modern medicine has tools that allow us to \u00absee\u00bb potential danger even before symptoms appear. One of them is <strong data-start=\"312\" data-end=\"337\">analysis for tumor markers<\/strong>. This study does not give a direct answer &quot;is there cancer or not&quot;, but it may <strong data-start=\"402\" data-end=\"423\">to warn in time<\/strong> about the risks, suggest the direction of examination and become a reference point in postoperative monitoring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"760\">People are often scared by the term &quot;tumor marker&quot;, not understanding that there can be many reasons for these indicators to increase. That is why it is important to understand: what the level of tumor markers means, when it is worth taking the analysis and how to correctly interpret the results.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"785\"><strong>What are tumor markers?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"1074\"><a href=\"https:\/\/medilab.km.ua\/en\/what-are-oncomarkers-and-when-should-they-be-tested\/\">Tumor markers<\/a> \u2014 these are specific substances (mainly proteins or enzymes) that are formed in the body under conditions <strong data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"929\">active growth of tumor cells<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"976\">under the influence of the tumor on the surrounding tissues<\/strong>. They may be present in blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, or other biological media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1246\">Tumor markers are not a universal &quot;cancer test,&quot; Here are examples of reasons that can affect the result:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3318\" data-end=\"3550\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3318\" data-end=\"3351\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3320\" data-end=\"3351\">acute or chronic inflammation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3352\" data-end=\"3375\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3354\" data-end=\"3375\">benign tumors<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3376\" data-end=\"3426\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3378\" data-end=\"3426\">complicated diseases of the liver, kidneys, stomach<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3427\" data-end=\"3481\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3429\" data-end=\"3481\">pregnancy (e.g., AFP in women in the second trimester)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3482\" data-end=\"3509\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3484\" data-end=\"3509\">postoperative period<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3510\" data-end=\"3550\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3512\" data-end=\"3550\">violation of the rules for preparing for analysis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3552\" data-end=\"3687\">Simultaneously, <strong data-start=\"3562\" data-end=\"3628\">a sharp increase in the indicator or a steady upward trend<\/strong> may be a signal for ultrasound, MRI, CT scan, or biopsy.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"3689\" data-end=\"3720\"><strong>How to prepare for the analysis<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"3722\" data-end=\"4086\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3722\" data-end=\"3798\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3724\" data-end=\"3798\">analysis is performed with <strong data-start=\"3745\" data-end=\"3763\">venous blood<\/strong>, mostly <strong data-start=\"3775\" data-end=\"3796\">in the morning on an empty stomach<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3799\" data-end=\"3872\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3801\" data-end=\"3872\">24 hours before blood collection <strong data-start=\"3830\" data-end=\"3870\">do not drink alcohol, fatty foods, coffee<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3873\" data-end=\"3913\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3875\" data-end=\"3913\">avoid physical exertion, stress<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3914\" data-end=\"3981\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3916\" data-end=\"3981\">women are recommended to take <strong data-start=\"3945\" data-end=\"3979\">CA 125 and HE4 on day 5\u20137 of the cycle<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3982\" data-end=\"4086\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3984\" data-end=\"4086\">do not take medications that affect the liver, kidneys or hormonal levels without consulting a doctor<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"4088\" data-end=\"4116\"><strong>What to do with the results<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"4118\" data-end=\"4533\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"4118\" data-end=\"4200\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4120\" data-end=\"4200\">consult a doctor who <strong data-start=\"4147\" data-end=\"4198\">interprets the analysis in the context of the overall condition<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"4201\" data-end=\"4262\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4203\" data-end=\"4262\">if necessary, undergo additional instrumental examinations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\"
