Sometimes the cause is not only psychological trauma, but also <strong data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"866\">imbalance in the endocrine system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"\" data-start=\"869\" data-end=\"910\">How hormones affect mental state<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1115\">Hormones are chemical messengers between organs. They affect energy, appetite, sleep cycles, stress response, and even the ability to feel pleasure.
