Its increase often indicates the presence of a tumor in the colon or rectum. However, it can also be increased in smoking, cirrhosis, pancreatitis, so it is always taken into account comprehensively.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"906\" data-end=\"923\"><strong data-start=\"910\" data-end=\"921\">CA 19-9<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"924\" data-end=\"1090\">Although this marker is more commonly used in pancreatic cancer, it also provides valuable information in colorectal cancer, especially in combination with other markers.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1108\"><strong data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1106\">CA 242<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1109\" data-end=\"1262\">A more specific marker for the intestine. Often increases in aggressive forms of tumors.
