This code (PG054) involves the study of material taken from six or fewer points. This targeted study allows the pathologist to study the architectonics of tissues in the most suspicious areas of the gland.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\"><b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Research objective:<\/b> The main task is microscopic confirmation or exclusion of prostate cancer. Accurate determination of the tumor&#039;s aggressiveness (Gleason score) and its location helps the doctor decide whether observation alone is sufficient or whether the patient needs surgery, radiation, or hormonal therapy.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">When is it prescribed:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"7\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\">suspicion of prostate cancer with an increased level of PSA (prostate-specific antigen);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\">detection of dense nodes or asymmetry of the gland during a digital rectal examination;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7,2,0\">detection of focal changes during CT scan or MRI (PI-RADS scale);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p
