Let&#039;s talk about HHV-6 and its relationship with the human immune system, in particular, the IgG index.<\/p>\n<p>HHV-6 is a virus that belongs to the herpesvirus family. It is divided into two types: HHV-6A and HHV-6B. This virus is very common in humans and can cause various diseases, including prolonged fever, herpesvirus encephalitis, and other neurological disorders. HHV-6B is especially common in children, and it is one of the most common infections in childhood.<\/p>\n<p>The body&#039;s immune system plays an important role in fighting HHV-6. One way to detect exposure to this virus is to measure the level of IgG antibodies in the patient&#039;s blood. IgG is a class of immunoglobulins that the body produces to fight infections.<\/p>\n<p>If IgG antibodies to HHV-6 are found in the blood, this indicates that the body has been exposed to this virus in the past. The level of IgG can vary depending on how actively the infection progressed in the past and how strongly the immune system responded to it.<\/p>\n<p>Interpretation of HHV-6 IgG test results is important. High IgG levels may indicate viral activity or a long-standing infection that remains latent.
