Immunization

📍On the initiative of the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO), immunization has been carried out since 2005. 📍Organizational activities during the immunization week are aimed at restoring public confidence in preventive vaccinations, bringing to the attention of parents who refuse to vaccinate children and adults reliable information from doctors about the effectiveness and safety of modern vaccines. 💡 According to WHO, immunization allows annually to prevent from 2 to 3 million deaths from diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, mumps, rubella and other diseases. 💉 Immunization is a process by which a person acquires immunity, or becomes immune to infectious diseases, usually by administering a vaccine. Vaccines stimulate the body's own immune system to protect a person from a certain infection or disease.

All-Ukrainian Psychologist's Day

All-Ukrainian Psychologist's Day is traditionally celebrated on April 23. 💡Psychology is an applied and academic science that studies human behavior, psyche, and mental processes. Scientific psychology is constantly developing and is a system of theoretical, experimental, and methodological properties of cognition. One of the outstanding psychologists of the last century, Jean Piaget, predicted that in the 21st century, psychology would become one of the leading sciences. Apparently, his prediction is beginning to come true. This statement will sound even more significant if we recall that psychology received official recognition less than a century and a half ago. 🧑🏼‍💼On the professional holiday "Psychologist's Day", we join the numerous congratulations to our respected and always useful psychologists and wish them and their patients good health and simple human happiness - to be more often in the circle of a loving family and enjoy life, because, as we know, it is beautiful!

Atherosclerosis risk assessment

📍Atherosclerosis is a chronic disease in which cholesterol (plaque) deposits appear on the walls of blood vessels. Over time, the amount of deposits increases, the space in the vessels, respectively, decreases ➡️ blood circulation and nutrition of various organs deteriorates ➡️ they do not receive oxygen and nutrients. This is one of the causes of myocardial infarction, cerebral stroke. Thanks to laboratory studies, today, it is possible to prevent the development of atherosclerosis by determining the level of homocysteine (HC) in the blood. 📍Homocysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that is synthesized in the body and is an intermediate protein product of the metabolism of methionine and cysteine. With a lack of B vitamins (B12, B6, B9 (folic acid), the level of GC increases⬆️ and promotes inflammation and is toxic to brain neurons. 💉 Material collection: on an empty stomach (do not eat) for at least 6-8 hours, drink water without impurities. 🔬We care about your health and care about our reputation. Order a study⬇️ ☎️ (067) 313 06 65 ☎️ (0382) 72 99 09 Address:...

DNA Day

DNA Day was established in honor of the day in 1953 when three articles were published in the journal Nature dedicated to the discovery of the molecular structure of DNA. This day also marks the completion of the Human Genome Project, which was announced in April 2003. 🧬 DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid. It is in DNA that our genetic information is stored, and this test is one of the most popular for establishing family ties. The discovery of the DNA helix was revolutionary for science. 📍Thanks to the discovery of DNA, the code of heredity was revealed, genetic risk was identified, the formation of programmed properties of the organism began, heredity is being improved, and genetic engineering technologies are being created. This day provides a unique opportunity for geneticists and doctors of various specialties related to providing assistance to patients with hereditary pathology to discuss their research with students, doctors and the population.

RESEARCH DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY OF LABORATORY WORK

Research depends on the quality of the laboratory's work

Laboratory examinations are very important in assessing a person's health. Some of you do them only when there is a need to undergo an examination for employment. Some undergo an annual medical examination. Someone is examined during an acute illness. And someone needs the results of the examinations for constant monitoring, for example, a chronic disease or pregnancy. 📍Many patients ask why the results in different laboratories may differ? 💉The results of the studies may differ for the following reasons: 🔺 Laboratories perform the studies using different methods; 🔺 Laboratory studies are performed on different equipment and with different reagents; 🔺 Laboratories use a different measurement system and due to this, the reference values are significantly different and cannot be compared. ❗️ Our MediLab laboratory offers reference values for different age groups and certain conditions (pregnancy), which greatly simplifies the understanding of the results obtained. Automated laboratory processes reduce the time to obtain results and guarantee the absence of even minor deviations, which significantly increases the reliability...

WHAT CAN VITAMIN D TELL YOU ABOUT?

WHAT CAN VITAMIN D TELL YOU ABOUT?

💡Only 41% of Ukrainians have a normal level of vitamin D. This is due to the fact that 80-100% of vitamin D is synthesized by our skin under the influence of sunlight and only a small amount of it enters the body with food. ☀️ In conditions of insufficient exposure to the sun or low lighting, even the richest diet will not be able to fully meet the need for vitamin D. 📍Vitamin D deficiency is dangerous due to impaired calcium-phosphorus metabolism and the risk of developing rickets in children and osteoporosis in adults. ❗️Factors that affect the synthesis of vitamin D in the skin: 🔹 A small number of sunny days - from October to March; 🔹 Intense skin pigmentation; 🔹 Advanced age; 🔹 Prolonged stay indoors; 🔹 Concomitant diseases. ❗️ Medi Lab+ medical laboratory recommends a 25OH Vitamin D total (D2+D3) test to determine the level of vitamin D in the body. 👉 The therapeutic or prophylactic dose of vitamin D should be determined individually to prevent side effects. Your doctor will select the right regimen...
