It's a shame to be a worm

🪱 Infection with helminth parasites (worms) is one of the main reasons that:
– suppresses a person’s defenses;
– worsens the course of existing diseases;
– affects the nervous system;
– increases the number of pathogenic microorganisms in the intestines;
– reduces the effectiveness of the vaccine;
– causes allergic reactions, poor appetite, and unexplained fever.
In addition to mechanical damage, they cause harm with their metabolic breakdown products, which leads to various consequences as a result of intoxication of the body in both children and adults.
🔬 Since helminths can provoke various symptoms of the disease and not all can secrete eggs, there are two main methods for detecting parasites:
1. The classic method or the simplest is microscopic examination of fresh feces. In our laboratory "Medi Lab+" we also perform the "Parasep" enrichment method, which is designed to concentrate helminth eggs, cysts, and protozoa.
2. Microscopic method - allows you to detect eggs, cysts and diagnose helminthiasis, which are most common: ascariasis, enterobiasis, trichocephalosis, giardiasis.
The classic method is not entirely convenient and requires a number of requirements for passing the analysis.
🩸 The "blood test for helminths" method consists in detecting the presence of antibodies to various types of parasites using the ELISA method.
💡At Medi Lab+, this method can be used to test for antibodies to:
– ascaris
– toxocar
– Giardia
– opisthorchiasis
– Trichinella
– echinococcus
– clonorchiasis
– anisakidosis
– cysticercosis.
‼️ The presence of only antibodies to helminths without monitoring the course of the disease, clinical manifestations, and consultation with the attending physician is not a definitive diagnosis.
