General urine analysis (GUA) and Nechyporenko analysis: rules for preparation and conduct

Complete urinalysis (CUR)

Laboratory diagnostics of urine remains the "gold standard" for assessing the functioning of the urinary system. To obtain the most accurate results that will allow the doctor to make the correct diagnosis, it is important to follow clear rules for collecting biomaterial.

Complete urinalysis (CUR)

This is a basic study that helps detect inflammatory processes, kidney function disorders, and metabolism.

  • Duration of execution: 1 business day.

  • How to prepare: For For analysis, it is necessary to collect the first morning portion of urine right after sleep.

  • Assembly instructions: Use only a sterile, single-use 20 ml container. After filling, make sure the container is tightly closed.

  • Importantly: Deliver the material to the Medi Lab Plus laboratory no later than two hours after collection.

Urine analysis according to Nechyporenko

This method is more specialized and allows for a detailed assessment of the number of formed elements in 1 ml of urine.

  • Duration of execution: 1 business day.

  • Assembly instructions: Collected in a sterile disposable container medium portion morning urine (volume 5–10 ml).

  • Transportation: The container must be tightly closed with a lid. Delivery to the Medi Lab Plus laboratory is carried out no later than two hours after collection.

What can be determined using these analyses?

The research results allow us to evaluate the following important indicators:

  • Specific gravity (concentrating ability of the kidneys).

  • White (indicator of the integrity of the renal filtration barrier).

  • Leukocytes (sign of an inflammatory process).

  • Erythrocytes (presence of damage or internal bleeding).

  • Cylinders (protein structures indicating pathological changes in the renal tubules).

⚠️ Important information

Before scheduling a visit to the laboratory «"Medi Lab Plus"», please familiarize yourself with the department's work schedule and biomaterial collection schedule in advance. Strict adherence to these recommendations is the key to the reliability of your analyses!
