Glucose

🍬Glucose is a component of the blood that is responsible for carbohydrate metabolism and is the main universal source of energy for most cells of the body, especially for brain tissue and nerve cells. Most of the energy that our body uses is generated by the oxidation of glucose. Glucose enters the cells through food, providing metabolic processes.
The concentration of glucose in the blood is regulated by hormones.
💡The hormone "Insulin" is the main controller of glucose levels in human blood, stimulating the formation of glycogen and triglycerides and significantly reducing blood glucose levels⬇️.
💡The hormones glucagon, cortisol, adrenaline, somatotropin, thyrotropin, T3, T4 (thyroid indicators) increase the glucose content in the blood⬆️.
The concentration of glucose in the blood is maintained mainly by the "glucose-insulin-glucagon" mechanism.
Blood glucose testing is primarily intended for diagnostic control and monitoring of treatment of carbohydrate metabolism disorders.
🚨To obtain accurate values, blood sampling is performed after preliminary preparation:
– do not change your diet for 24 hours before blood sampling;
– avoid excessive sweets in the evening;
– take the test on an empty stomach (without eating). You can drink water (without impurities!);
– do not take medications on the eve of the test;
– give up physical activity;
– stress resistance.
