Impact of COVID-19 on glucose levels

In 🦠COVID-19, the virus acts on cells that produce insulin, changing their secretion. As a result, the cells do not receive glucose - they "starve". In such conditions, the virus multiplies rapidly and complicates any infectious process➡️ COVID-19 needs energy (glucose).
Oxygen kills COVID-19, but it "feeds" on glucose, which it takes from the heart, liver, and muscles.
There are no age limits for elevated blood glucose levels, so the most common diagnostic method is to determine the glucose content in the morning blood serum on an empty stomach.
