Analysis on myeloperoxidase (MPO) antibodies, IgG is an important test to detect and monitor certain systemic vasculitides, which cause inflammation of the blood vessels. Myeloperoxidase is an enzyme in white blood cells, and when the immune system starts to produce antibodies against it, it can be a sign of the disease.

What not to do before taking the test:

To get accurate results, you need to prepare properly for the MPO antibody test, as with most blood tests. Avoid the following:

  • Don't eat for 8-12 hours before blood sampling. The analysis is performed strictly on an empty stomach.
  • Do not drink alcohol. at least 24 hours before the study.
  • Don't smoke. within an hour before analysis.
  • Avoid excessive physical and emotional stress. 30 minutes before the procedure.
  • Do not take medication. without consulting your doctor. Some medications may affect the results. Be sure to tell your doctor about all medications you are taking.
